The PRO Trashbreaker has a bold name that lives up to its powerful abilities. It’s capable of reaching a previously unheard-of range of 4 miles (line of sight) and is currently the longest-range dog training collar on the market.
The remote has been built for big running hounds and suits the needs of hunters who need to make a correction or recall from a distance. Apart from its ability to reach an impressive 4-mile range, the intelligent Tri-Tronics PRO Trashbreaker can also expand up to 9 dogs. But what’s interesting to note is that the Pro Trashbreaker works off a different radio signal from previous models and uses MURS Frequency to enhance its range. To ensure that the MURS frequency works, the remote’s removable flex VHF antenna has been designed a little longer than usual and is paired with an antenna on the receiver collar.
Focusing on the controls, the top-mounted selection dial is where you manage 6 levels of stimulation intensity and tone settings quickly and easily. And then there is the multi-dog toggle switch and the color-coded transmitter buttons that line up spaciously for accurate fingertip control. The transmitter is also used to remotely control the LED beacon lights and BarkLimiter built into the receiver (more about this below).
All the transmitter features are wrapped in a waterproof case (IPX7 rating) with rubberized grips that help you to secure the dog training device in your hand to control the dials without taking your eyes off of your dogs.
Both the remote and the dog training receiver collar have been built to withstand the blows, bumps and rugged conditions of training and hunting. The receiver device is watertight up to 10 meters and can be relied on for performance in wet conditions. The receiver includes 2 sizes of interchangeable, stainless, insulated contact points for efficient execution and extended comfort for the dog/s.
As previously mentioned, the collar features its own removable antenna - it also includes built-in Beacon Lights and a Bark Limiter.
The Remote Beacon Lights are a great safety addition that helps you to locate your dog/s in all conditions - and are especially useful when it’s dark. Essentially, what Garmin has done here is to build a tracer light into the collar device, connecting it to the transmitter so that you can spot your hound with the push of a button.
Another feature activated by the transmitter is the built-in BarkLimiter. This useful dog training tool uses Autorise technology to instantly adjust correction to the optimum level needed so that the trainer can end unwanted barking. To note: this functionality works on auto-rise, with 18 levels. What that means is that as your dog barks, the stimulation level will slowly increase until it reaches the right level for the best correction. The Bark Limiter can be helpful out on the field but it is also handy for kennel control and to keep a quiet home.
