How It Works

The SportDOG Bark Collar learns your dog’s unique barking style. Every time your dog barks, the collar delivers a short, gentle static stimulation that reminds them to be quiet. If the barking doesn’t stop, the collar delivers another correction. In a few days, your dog will quickly learn when barking is allowed and when it isn’t.

All three collars have a Progressive Correction mode. With this, the correction will start at the lowest level and increase to the next level if barking persists. If barking isn’t detected within 30 seconds of the previous bark, the correction will automatically reset to the first level.

The other two modes are Temperament Learning and User-Select. They’re available depending on the sporting dog bark collar model.

Correction in Temperament Learning mode starts at the lowest level and then increases through the levels each time your dog’s bark is detected within 30 seconds of the previous bark. The SportDog Bark collar records the last or highest level used to stop barking. So, the next time your dog starts barking, the static correction will be administered at the recorded level. The correction level will be reduced if your dog does not bark again within 30 seconds.

The User-Selected mode allows you to choose the correction level. If barking is detected, the sporting dog bark collar will deliver correction at the level you’ve selected until they stop barking.
